11/18/1987 - Pink Floyd: Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour

This was the first and only concert that I got high at.  I went with a friend from work - can't recall his name.  We sat in the lower mezzanine at the back toward the top - center stage.  I remember the sound was terrible - almost unlistenable.  I wonder if I would have made it through the show had I NOT been stoned.  I remember some 15-16 year old kids sitting down the row from us that were pretty excited that we fired up a joint when the lights went down.  Based on their excited chatter after discovering our activity - they thought their assumption that they would be in the proximity of such action should they attend a Pink Floyd concert and their actual proximity to the action manifest made them cool.  Which is ironic when you consider that this was not one of the finer moments in my life.

6/30/1987 - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

Don't remember much.  Based on some web info this appears to be the tour kickoff for the LET ME UP & TEMPLE IN FLAMES  Tour. Based on the timeframe this was likely the last concert I would have seen with the Riggs brothers.  I believe it was soon after this that they moved to Arizona for good.

1/30/1987 - Iron Maiden: Somewhere on Tour

In the late 80s you didn't ask "if" Iron Maiden was coming to town, you asked "when".  And when you had Mike as your friend you didn't ask whether we wanted to go, you asked when and where we should show up to camp out for tickets.  Mike was a Maiden nut.  We had great seats and the show was awesome.  Mike spray painted a bedsheet with some Maiden-like art and we took it with us.  Way too big to display from our seats at one point towards the end of the concert he threw it towards the stage.  He had written a note to the effect of "You guys rock.  Call me if you want to party.  281.555.5555 or something like that hoping a band member might take him up on it.  Mike also planned a post-Maiden party.  We had a keg and everything.  Mike and Fred got really trashed.
